Best in town !
Truly a wonderful place, the best we have ever stayed at. Large bedrooms with balconies & a comfortable seating area, great outside deck & pool, excellent breakfast, super wine cellar. Must go back sooner rather than later!

We recently stayed for five nights and couldn't have asked for more. Beautiful rooms and facilities, fabulous breakfasts, and an amazing wine cellar! Pieter, Aletta and their team couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful - the whole stay was just soooo relaxing. Lovely quiet location tucked away near the nature reserve but still handy for the center. Felt like a home from home - would highly recommend.

My 2nd stay at this beautiful place. Large spacious very well equipped bedrooms and really comfortable open lounge areas make for a very relaxing stay. Wonderful hosts and really good tasty breakfasts. Highly recommended!!

We were recommended Selkirk House by friends and would highly recommended to others. The modern feel was refreshing and we loved our spacious room and even bigger bathroom...Heated towel rails were just fabulous too! The attention to details did not go unnoticed - with the coffee machine , bar and little 'treats' in the rooms. We enjoyed the private lounge area we could share with our friends. Staff is friendly and service is great! Delicious breakfast! Thanks! we'll be back.

“We had omelets for breakfast which were freshly prepared, prior to that fresh fruit salad. The proprietors are on hand and are excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable about vicinity. Great to chat to. The whole place is luxury standard with a deck area and small pool if you wish to relax in the sun.”

“The owners were extremely accommodating. We requested a vegan breakfast. This was no problem for the owners and we were given a delicious vegan breakfast which surpassed our expectations. Nice quiet neighbourhood. Our room and upstairs accommodation felt extremely private.”

“Room was fantastic. We had room number 5 and the whole room was exquisite, especially the bathroom. Peter and his wife were excellent; they provided us with exceptional service and went out of their way to ensure we had fantastic trips etc. The tips were pretty booked up but Peter had great contacts and they fitted us in 🙂 There was an honesty bar (cellar) and the wine choice was amazing!! The staff was brilliant, all of them were friendly and again provided an excellent service throughout. The breakfast was extremely good, with lots of choice. We would definitely stay there again, our only regret is that we didn't book for a longer trip! Thank you.”

"This was one of the best 5 night hospitality experiences we have ever had. Room was very spacious, beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. The bathroom was very big, with a large corner bath and hand shower at one end and a wet room with double shower at the other end. No having to wait for your partner to finish for your turn, especially as there were his and her hand basins. The large double bed was very comfortable. This was all complimented by loads of drawer and wardrobe space and a beautiful view straight up the flora strewn mountainside. Peter and Aletta are the perfect hosts and the rest of the staff follows their lead. Finally, the breakfasts were delightful."

Totally relaxing and beautiful setting up against the mountains , beautiful garden and birds and views.
Managers are the most awesome hosts and take pride in everything on offer .
Spacious and beautifully decorated rooms with all the bells and whistles, awesome breakfasts and fresh fruit every day.
I could not have found a better spot to unwind and relax with the buzz of Hermanus very close by .

Selkirk House is magnificent in every way. The rooms are spacious, modern, beautifully decorated. Hosts are welcoming, charming and helpful with advice and the supporting team are great. Breakfast is delicious.
The views from the house, especially the roof terrace, are wonderful with the mountains behind and the ocean in the distance. Nearby the Fernkloof Nature Reserve is full of fascinating plants and great for hiking and Grotto Beach is glorious and endless.
We have never stayed in such a lovely guest house in a quiet area.
